熊文韵选择了日本画，而且一学就是数年。选择学习日本画犹如皈依佛门选修“律宗”，其过程是艰苦、甚至是痛苦的，因为日本画十分讲究制作技艺，使用矿物质颜料所需要的绘画程序和激发对画家的艺术感觉和从艺耐心与能力都是一道道严格的考验。

Xiong Wenyun has chosen to study the Japanese painting, and, moreover, spent years on it. The choice to study Japanese painting is like converting to Buddhism and electing the “Vinaya school,” whose process is arduous even painful, because Japanese painting is extremely fastidious about the manufacture techniques. The drawing procedure of using mineral substance pigments, the inspiration on the painter’s artistic feeling, the patience and ability needed are serious challenges.
